I had an AIR-1 arrive a couple of weeks ago preloaded with the 6C offset. I have calibrated using a Thermopro to 1.9C (but still monitoring).
This seems like a spectacular mistake in the preset calibration. Did they change something and forget to update the calibration?

Thanks for your support! The AIR-1 enclosure can trap some heat from the microcontroller, so temperature readings typically require an offset adjustment to better match your ambient room temperature. Because every environment and installation is different, there is not a universal preset calibration value, so the offset does need to be adjusted manually for your setup.
We also offer a prevent sleep option if you would prefer to use that approach instead. Just keep in mind that air quality measurements will report less frequently, since the device will not take readings while it is sleeping.
