I bought the ESPHome Starter Kit, but I can’t for the life of me find any mention of purchasing a battery. The documentation page (at least the first paragraph of the page) for the battery mentions a battery, but to me it’s confusing if it means any rechargeable 3.7V 2800mAh LiPo or a specific to Apollo Automation/ESPHome starter kit battery.
Can I just find any “rechargeable 3.7V 2800mAh LiPo” online and start using that? I’m very new to the world of hardware so I don’t know if there’s some hidden requirements.

Good question the wording on the site makes it appear like it is sold separately at Apollo, but it appears to not be available. And it’s not in the add-on options for the kit.
Just purchase any LiPo 2800mAh with a 2-pin JST-PH 2.0 connector.

Shipping batteries, especially LiPo packs, when not installed, requires extra shipping steps, so we do not have it as an option at this time. However, like @RebbePod said, it should work with any LiPo 2800mAh with a 2-pin JST-PH 2.0 connector.
